What we measure
Signal strength, SNR, co-channel interference, cell overlap, noise floor, channel width, data rate and retry rate — together with roaming conditions along defined routes such as picking aisles, forklift routes and AGV paths.
How we define acceptance criteria
Each engagement starts with a requirements review. Together with you, we define measurable acceptance criteria based on operational needs, the actual client devices and applications. Thresholds are documented and agreed before the survey and apply to the specific project.
- Client radio capabilities, antennas and documented manufacturer requirements.
- Application requirements for capacity, latency, jitter, packet loss and roaming.
- Premises, materials, interference, client density and concurrent users.
- Critical areas and routes, including continuity requirements if an access point fails.
These requirements determine the relevant metrics and thresholds, for example signal strength, SNR, capacity and roaming interruption, together with the areas, frequency bands and operating conditions to which they apply. Overlap and secondary coverage are assessed against client needs and continuity requirements, rather than a generic percentage or a shared signal threshold.
We also document the measurement method, representative clients and test conditions. The report shows results and deviations against the agreed criteria, including anything that could not be verified. After improvements, we can validate the results against the same requirements. General guidelines are discussion inputs, not universal acceptance criteria.

Passive and active surveys — what that means for you
Passive surveys and spectrum analysis require nothing from your systems: our equipment only listens to the radio environment and does not connect to a network. During an active survey — when we verify throughput and roaming — we connect to your WiFi as a standard client using a temporary guest account or a key that you issue and revoke immediately afterwards. We never require administrative access or logins to firewalls, WMS platforms or controllers.
